Can a business-neighbor provide the same service or product as me?

Is there any law in California that prevents a business-neighbor provide the same service or products? I have A Flower Shop and on mothersday my neighbor started selling Flowers too…

It’s called competition. While I don’t believe there is a state law, you may find support with the property owner (I am assuming you are leasing space in a strip mall). Generally, it is the responsibility of the property owner to ensure that stores don’t conflict with each other. Faced with the prospect of loosing you as a renter in this economy, they may put pressure on the other business owner.
